My name is Tony and I'm looking forward to learning more about the Rivian R1T. My 08 Tundra will probably be replaced someday by an electric pickup. I'm considering all the proposed vehicles, but so far the R1T looks like the most promising. My biggest concern is range while towing. I would like to be able to tow small trailer 3 to 4 hundred miles with 1 or 2 short charging stops.

Hi, Jon here. Been driving an EV since 2011. Really looking forward to an electric pickup or possibly a mid size SUV. An electric pickup will really help get more consumers interested in EVs.
Thank you guys. Nate, I think you meant 180kWh for the largest pack. That is the one that would interest me. I hope I can get one without to many bells and whistles. I don't need a glass roof, an electric tailgate, or other such items. I just want a capable electric truck.
Welcome aboard, Tony! The R1T would likely be my overall choice too.
I think the Rivian will hold it's charge quite well with a relatively small trailer behind it.
That said, there will be three battery options, with the headlining one, an enormous 80-kilowatt-hour pack that will give the R1T a driving range of "400+" miles, as well as a 0 to 60 miles per hour time of 3.2 seconds. A lighter 135-kWh battery pack will deliver "300+" miles of range and a 3.0-second sprint to 60, while the most affordable 105-kWh option is rated for a 230-mile driving range and a 4.9-second run to 60; it will launch approximately six months after the first two versions do.
Welcome to the club! Hopefully by the launch of the R1T in 2020, there will be an abundance of charging stations across the nation to help eliminate the anxiety of not being able to get a charge. This will also increase the purchase of EV's across the nation!
