Forget stopping at the gas station anymore. The vast majority of EV Charging will be taking place at home as though public charging is always needed. Suburbs will be the merging hotspot for early EV adopters. With charging infrastructure progressing, charge times will gradually become quicker. This will allow others from their homes to rent out their chargers to others. This is a lot cheaper and very sustainable throughout a country.

"Forget stopping at the gas station anymore."
Why? Major gasoline suppliers like Shell and BP are installing EV chargers at their gas stations.

Think of the gas stations that are part of a mini-mart and sharing space with other businesses like Starbucks, Dunkin Doughnuts, and popular fast food chains. IMHO, adding EVs to gas stations makes total sense ... as long as they are far enough away from the gas pumps. :-)
And with the charging technology improving, it won't be long now that an 80% charge can be obtained in about the same time it takes a visit to the gas station to fill up. E.g. Tesla's recent V3 release of their super chargers has cut the charging time in half - an 80% charge now in 20 mins.

With regards to home chargers, there's an interesting service starting up called EVMatch.com. Only available I believe at this time in California and Colorado. Alex from E on Electric recently interviewed the CEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yY6JMs-mqU
