Post your thoughts on other proposed electric pickups compared to the Rivian. Some that have been announced are The Havelaar Bison, Bollinger, Atlis and Tesla. Ford and GM have recently spoken about the possibility of offering electric pickups as well, but have not firmly committed. Lets not forget the Workhorse W-15, a range extended electric pickup that will soon be available.

Tesla pickup (according to Musk) will tow as much as an F-150, which is currently 13,200 lbs. The question I have is how far? Range will take a big hit towing that much weight.
Access to the Tesla Supercharger network is a huge factor. This will be hard for any electric truck to overcome. It is about to get very interesting.
Tesla truck priced below 50k according to Musk. How do you think this will affect Rivian sales?
GM is selling its Lordstown, Ohio plant to Workhorse. They plan on producing an electric pickup with a 200 mile range along with a plugin hybrid pickup. They claim to have 5000 orders for the plugin version.
GM is jumping into the mix. It looks like electric pickup buyers will have plenty of choices in a few years!!
that Atlis looks amazing. My only concern about the rivian is the size. I am 6'6 and 300+ lbs. they were talking about the Rivian being the size of a colorado or a ranger and they are too small for me. That Bollinger looks like a hummer and those have been proven to be to wide for daily driving which is why the H1 was redisgned to be the H2. But out of all these i bet the Atlis would be the best contender.
With all the press about the Rivian lately, I'm thinking Elon will have some news about the Telsa pick-up at the Model Y unveiling today. Even though the Rivian will probably be first to market, Tesla can pirate sales from Rivian by convincing some buyers to wait for it's offering. Tesla already has a leg up because of it's Supercharger network. The new V3 Superchargers Tesla is starting to roll out will be a big advantage for people who tow trailers for long distances or just long distance travel in general. The pick-up market is huge, and it has room for many players, so I am sure the Rivian will do fine.
All we can know at this point is what manufacturers tell us. And what they are telling us is that the Rivian has the best range towing and ground clearance, bollinger would be a great challenge if it had better range and everyone else is an also-ran. Tesla could change that, who knows. Workhorse would be solid (even as a hybrid) if it had better approach and departure angle and wasn’t so ugly up front. The bison looks good but range is too low for me. Obviously just my opinions. Personally, if bolloinger had 3-400 miles of range, I would prefer it to Rivian. Just barely.
Tesla will be revealing the Model Y tomorrow. Elon usually likes to announce other surprises at his events. Do you think there will be some news on the pick-up or the semi?
I think the first company to produce electric trucks in significant numbers will have an advantage. Tesla will also do well because of their large customer base, as will any of the big 3 if they decide to play. There are about 2 million pickups a year sold in this country. Electric trucks will have the capability to take over the role of a large number of these vehicles. Fleet managers will flock to them once they realize the benefits to be had. It's only a matter of time.
As Nate4X4 said, it's hard to tell. Any comparison at this point is Conjecture.
It's hard to tell now, Spin. These other EV trucks that you mentioned have also been recently released. I would have to do a lot more study and research regarding them before I can tell you how I think they would compare. For instance, Tesla's most competitive EV with Rivian is the current Model X, but that is not a even a pickup truck.
But as time will take it's seat, I'm sure the standing points of these top electric trucks will be become more vivid and easier to decipher. For now I'm just riding along.
