The cargo floor is a bit high to place a kennel for a 60 pound hunting dog. I would like to see above the kennel to the rear if possible. Is there an opening from the cargo tunnel to the back seats? They would like that I think. I would be traveling North and South Dakota in the colder weather.

Probably just the back seats then...like she's used to. Fold up a wire kennel to take with and set it up in the back for the days hunt. Sometimes she will retrieve skunks, so have to be prepared.
You will need the R1S for that purpose.
