Has anyone looked into Atlis Motors and their pickup concept / prototype? How do you think these two will measure against each other. Do you think they directly compete with each other or is Rivian more of an adventure truck and Atlis more of a utility truck concept. If you could choose today to buy either one with same range and price which one would you get and why? Just curious what you guys think.

At 75 years and still loving adventure and technology late 2020 can’t come soon enough. I even have a dedicated garage 220v line ready for use. Being close to Ford I hope that in the bed tailgate design they can provide that vertical post and step that lets old guys like me climb up and step down. Like my dogs my jumping days are over.
Being that Rivian talks with GM went no where it might be better for GM to cozy up to Atlis. Atlis really looks like something that GM will produce anyway in the future. When I see Atlis I see Ford and Chevy.
IMHO, the R1T looks to be positioned for the off-road (adventure) client where as the Atlis XT looks to be positioned more for work. This may be drawing a fine line between the two, but these are two different markets albeit with some overlap. So I believe the answer depends on what your needs are / intended use of the pickup. Now, if you need it for both, adventure and work, well, I don't envy your position on deciding. :-)
Bollinger, Havelaar Bison and Tesla will be jumping into the mix as well. Lets not foget Workhorse with their range extended W-15. The first company to be able to deliver vehicles in significant numbers will have an advantage over the others. There is a pent up demand from EV enthusiasts for an electric truck or SUV. Whether or not any of these trucks are successful or not remains to be seen. Certainly some will not be successful and fall by the wayside. I believe Tesla has the biggest advantage over the others because of their large customer base and their demonstrated ability to produce vehicles in large numbers to satisfy demand. I hope Rivian will be one of the successful ones.
